Three years after having first published this infographic.

That went pretty fast…

I’d mentioned previously that making the transition to a plant based diet had a largely positive impact on my life.

By altering the way I ate, I was able to overcome a lot of the health problems I faced in university. I feel like I also improved as an athlete, and the diet was the catalyst for a whole load more positive changes too.

I’m truly glad that I embarked on this experiment, and in the infographic below you’ll find many of the benefits that I attibuted to the diet in those early stages. Some backed up by scientific research and living examples, others purely from my own experiences.

*But please note*

I want you to take the ideas below with a pinch of salt.

My thinking has evolved quite a bit since then, and so have my eating habits. 

I’ll admit that in the early stages of my journey, I was perhaps a bit overzealous. Excited by the things I was experiencing, I was eager to share the potential rewards with everyone else so they too could feel great and ‘save the planet’.

But the more I’ve learned over the past few years, the more careful I am to claim that this way of eating is the solution to all of our problems.

Whilst I think it is something most people could benefit from experimenting with, I truthfully don’t know if it is the long-term solution for everyone. And personally, I don’t want to get bogged down by an ideology, attached to an ‘ism’.

So whilst the benefits below may indeed be bestowed upon you if you up you plant intake and move away from conventionally farmed animal produce, I can’t guarantee that.

So please, please, please:

Listen to your body, take what resonates with you, and throw away the rest.

Whilst I hope you enjoyed the plant based diet infographic and that it benefited you in some shape or form, remember to listen to your body, and that there’s not necessarily a one-size-fits-all approach.

Veganism definitely worked well for me at one point in time, but that doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone, all the time.
