Here’s another little side dish I thought you might enjoy.

I don’t usually go for this sort of thing. As you know, I’m not a big fan of using processed foods, and try my best to stay away from them whenever possible. They’re not something I really want to promote, as they’re largely full of empty calories, contain little nutritional value, and don’t really contribute to the overall goal of creating healthy, fully functioning body.

But I wanna be completely honest – like most people, every once in a while I indulge. I’m only human after all…

Like I’ve said before, everyone is at different stages of their health journey, and if having a bit of vegan spread every now and again (which isn’t the worst thing in the world) makes eating a predominately whole food, plant based diet more sustainable for you, by all means go for it. I don’t want this blog just to be for the ‘elite’ – I want to meet you where you’re at. So sometimes that will mean looking at a few in-between, transitional recipe options, like this one today: vegan garlic bread.

The vegan garlic bread recipe is probably one of the easiest and quickest on the blog at the moment. It goes great as a side with just about anything, but we enjoyed it with a big pan full of dahl the other evening.

And here’s how we did it.

INGREDIENTS

  • A few slices of wholemeal or gluten free bread
  • A teaspoon or two of vegan spread.
  • About 4-5 cloves of garlic
  • Some dried parsley

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to about 150
  2. Mince your garlic, then mix with the parsley and spread.
  3. Apply the spread evenly over your bread, then bake in the oven for about five to ten minutes until crisp.
