Vegan Turkish Delight Smoothie Recipe Health Room

Our vegan turkish delight smoothie recipe, topped with a little cocoa powder and chi seeds to make it look a bit nicer.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a recipe, so I thought I’d start back by bringing you something a bit different.

I’ve been playing around with some smoothie variations lately, and this is one of my favourites so far. It’s a meal in of itself, but every gulp tastes like a goddamn dessert…

Back when I was an omnivore who didn’t care too much about what I put into my body, those Cadbury’s chocolate Turkish delight bars used to be one of my favourite ‘treats’. I said goodbye to those a long time ago, but our trip to Turkey last year reminded me how much I liked the taste of that pink, jelly like substance, even if it isn’t the best choice for your health.

If you’re like me, you’ll be happy to hear you can now get the same great flavours in smoothie form, but without the added risk of getting type 2 or heart disease. Despite the slightly misleading title and image, this recipe doesn’t contain any of those squidgy, sugary cubes.

Just plants.

So grab your rose water, and get ready to feel delighted. Here’s our Vegan Turkish Delight Smoothie Recipe.

  • 3-4 ripe bananas
  • 4 deglet-nour dates (or medjool if you’re feeling fancy)
  • A handful of frozen berries (partly for taste, partly for the colour)
  • Half a cup of oats
  • 2-3 tablespoons seeds (I used some chia and hemp)
  • 1 tablespoon rose water (you can get a big bottle of it for a pound in the UK, near the world food section in Sainsbury’s)
  • 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder/cacao nibs/carob powder (whatever floats your boat)
  • Half to one cup water
  • Optional ice or frozen spinach

Throw everything into your blender and blend on high for a minute or so. Drink it down, kick some ass, have a great day, and tell all your friends about this recipe 🙂
